GE Dishwasher Recall - Fire Hazard Alert

Stationery Header

Dear valued friends, colleagues and clients,

Two weekends ago, I awoke at 1:30 am to smoke in my bedroom.  I RAN to my children's rooms, woke them up and got them downstairs and outside.

My dishwasher was ON FIRE.  The flames were trying to reach the wood cabinets above.  I had filled the dishwasher just before going to bed.  I run it at night, because they say running it at night conserves energy.

I put out the fire with a pot of water I had (luckily) soaking in the sink.  The fire department came to rid the house of all of the smoke and graciously removed the totally destroyed dishwasher from the kitchen.

We were very, very, very, very, very fortunate to be unharmed.  I feel grateful every minute of every day.

When I spoke to my best friend about this, she said she had received a recall notice on her GE dishwasher and a technician came out to do some re-wiring.  I did some research and found out there is a fire hazard recall on three or more models (please see link below).

I'm spreading the word because I think many of us who purchase re-sale homes do not think to register the appliances existing in the home.  I never received a recall notice.

Please click on the link below to check the serial number of your GE dishwasher.

I'm never running my dishwasher at night again . . .

YAY! Prices UP in Summerlin!

A month does not a trend make, yet it is well to note that August 2009 prices in Summerlin increased by an average of $3.00 per square feet over July 2009.  We are currently selling at an average of $121.00 psf, with an average "Days on Market" of 59, and an average sales price of $293,553.  Houses are selling for 98% of list price.  These numbers are all improvements from the month before.

Life is good.

Northwest Las Vegas Valley Housing Inventory

The housing inventory in the Las Vegas Valley is drying up these days.  The average price per square foot "sold" in Summerlin is $120 psf.  It's time for the Banks to release more of the rumored 30,000 homes, eh?
